Delq Oil Painting Medium

8 ounce can of artists' oil painting medium that will improve the flow and leveling qualities of oil paint while greatly slowing the drying rate.

There are no mediums on the market that slow the drying rate of oil paint as much as Delq does. For instance, even with a typical "slow drying medium", Burnt Umber will dry on the canvas in less than 12 hours. Burnt Umber mixed with Delq and oil of cloves will stay wet for up to a week.

Delq contains no toxic dryers.

1 ounce bottle of Oil of Cloves. This is enough oil of cloves to mix with 2.5 tubes of Burnt Umber.

Holbein Quick Drying White

A foundation white for mixing your canvas stain color. Mix this paint with small amounts of Burnt Umber (straight from the tube) to create your stain color. Once the color matches the stain color card that came with your DVD, then add mineral spirits (in small amounts at first) to it to thin it down. The resulting stain color should be pretty thin — refer to your DVD for guidance.

I have tried other foundation (quick drying) whites but I like this one the best. The resulting surface (the dried stain on your canvas) has the just the right amount of tooth for penciling on. Many of the other foundation whites leave a semi-glossy surface that is more difficult to pencil and paint on.

Proportional Divider
